Your SocialShield Account

To receive the service at the socialshield.com website, you must first register with us by providing fully accurate personal information as we may reasonably require, including without limitation your name, address, email address, and credit card number; you agree to keep all the personal information updated and correct. Upon your registration and payment to us of the service fees, you become eligible to receive the service you have selected.

After registering with us, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for restricting access to your computer. Moreover, you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur in your account.

Privacy

For information about how we collect and use your personal information, please read our Policy. The policy may be updated from time to time at our discretion. We will notify you of any material changes to the policy by means of a notice on this site prior to the changes being effective.

Payment

You agree that you will timely pay (or arrange for payment to) us beforehand for our services on a monthly or annual basis (as determined by you when you register) and you authorize us to charge your credit card should you choose that method of payment. Your credit card will be charged when your membership is auto-renewed at the end of each service term depending on your membership plan unless you cancel your membership beforehand. In all cases, you are personally responsible for any applicable state, federal or other taxes that may be associated with your purchase of services unless noted otherwise.

Cancellation

Although we would hate to lose you, you can cancel the service anytime for any reason. If you cancel within 14 days of enrollment and we'll promptly refund the membership fees you paid.To cancel, please email us or call us at 1-800-239-0120.

Electronic Alerts

We may provide automatic service alerts and account-related alerts. Automatic service alerts may be sent to you. You can modify your communication preference at any time. Account–related alerts are sent to you as part of SocialShield’s service. Alerts will be sent to the email address you have provided as your primary email address for socialshield.com. If your email address changes, you are responsible for informing us of that change. Some of the alerts may include information such as your order summary or the due date for your credit card payment. Anyone with access to your email will be able to view the content of these alerts. At any time you may disable future alerts.

User-Provided Content

Our site may provide a community where you can communicate with other visitors and with us. By participating in the community, you agree to follow the following rules:

By submitting content to us, you represent that you have all necessary rights and hereby grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, modify, display, and perform all or any portion of the content in connection with socialshield.com and our business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the site (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels.

Liability and Warranty Disclaimers

ALL MATERIALS, INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS AND SERVICES INCLUDED IN OR AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SOCIALSHIELD SITE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. SOCIALSHIELD HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE OR TRADE, AND INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR TITLE. BECAUSE SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT PERMIT THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL SOCIALSHIELD BE LIABLE TO YOU, ANY PARTY YOU REGISTER FOR SERVICES OR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, HOWEVER AND WHEREVER ARISING. OTHER THAN PURSUANT TO THE SERVICE PROMISE, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF SOCIALSHIELD UNDER THIS AGREEMENT OR REGARDING SERVICES EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1000) OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO SOCIALSHIELD FOR SERVICES. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of damages so the foregoing may not apply to you.

Your Indemnification of SocialShield

Governing Law and Forum for Disputes

These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to any laws that would direct the choice of another state's laws and, where applicable, to be governed by the federal laws of the United States.
